Mom, Me & CIT Book

Sale Price: $14.99 Original Price: $17.99

A Mother’s and Son’s Lived Experience with Mental Illness and Law Enforcement. This book includes stories from a parent and (adult) child with mental illness. In this book, you will not only find many intense stories of encounters with law enforcement, but also homelessness and over 30 stays in mental health hospitals. The authors, Peg and Evan, have used their experiences for good and regularly speak to groups, mostly law enforcement and academy cadets, during Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) trainings. Evan and Peg have been told they are a “rare combo” because of their different perspectives on their Lived Experiences.

‍ ‍There are also opportunities in the second half of the book for the reader to learn from 17 real professionals who work in the fields of Mental Health and Crisis Intervention as they share their knowledge and stories. We call them Heroes of Crisis Intervention.
